Science and Community: One Health Series – 3rd Program (January 9, 2025)

AMR Surveillance strategies

In continuation with the ‘Science and Community - One Health series’ launch, the 3rd program was held at the city science museum, VITM, with organizing partners NCBS, TIGS, and VITM.

The expert lecture was delivered by Mr. Vishwanath S, Founder & Director, Biome Environmental Solutions Pvt - India, during the interactive session, followed by Q&A sessions with the audience, exhibits, and interactive curated activities.

The theme was 'Community-based surveillance of water quality.'

This program series includes one expert talk biweekly and curated hands-on activities and exhibits to bring the science of public health, animal health, and environmental surveillance via the One Health kaleidoscope to society. It is part of the Public Outreach under The Rockefeller Foundation - APSI-India program.

Through the program, we are interfacing the community with experts in the One Health field through interactive talks, community engagement, curated hands-on activities, films, and exhibits for schools, teachers, colleges, and various organizations.

Activities included:
– Exhibits
– Curated hands-on activities
– Educational games
– Films as part of the ongoing ‘Vaccines - Injecting Hope’ exhibition
– A panel of public health surveillance experts, climate health and animal health experts, and clinicians interacted with attendees from colleges, master’s and bachelor’s students in science, high school students, NGOs, and educators.
