Pune Knowledge Cluster (PKC), a RF-APSI partner, in collaboration with the Superheroes against
Superbugs (SaS), conducted a one-day workshop on raising awareness for Antimicrobial Resistance
(AMR) at Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College (BJMC) on June 9 th , 2024 and Bharati Vidyapeeth
Medical College (BVMC) on June 11 th , 2024 in Pune.
The workshop catered to 2 nd - year medical students, providing them with a holistic view of AMR,
guided by expertise from professionals. A total of 75 students each from BJMC and BVMC attended
the workshop. Dr Ponnarri Gotipetti the lead for SaS introduced the students and attendees of the
workshop to the initiative followed by Poornima Sangewar, Assistant Project Manager, PKC
introducing PKC and its initiatives under the Health Vertical. The workshop consisted of lectures
from experts/ professionals who work in the hospital settings and entrepreneurs in AMR diagnostics.
Case study-based learning to make informed decisions was also included in the sessions. The session
was concluded with a fast-paced quiz competition, Jeopardy Jamboree, based on questions
connected to the learnings from the workshop.
