Bangalore, Outreach Event: RF-APSI Pathogen surveillance, outreach and way forward

Bangalore: On September 13, 2024 The Rockefeller Foundation-APSI-India in partnership with Tata Institute for Genetics and Society, India Insectary team organized the Outreach activity, "Pathogen Surveillance strategies and way forward".

Targeting over 300 school children, teachers, researchers, community members, doctors, medical students and curiosity-driven enthusiastic participants, we covered topics ranging from disease-causing pathogens, disease surveillance strategies, latest research from RF-APSI teams, #publichealthadvocacy for #earlywarningsystem and #routineimplementation into the existing #publichealthsurveillance programs.

Themes covered: #environmentalsurveillance programs, #wastewaterbasedepidemiology #WBE, tools and technologies, low-cost #indigenizedkits, #antimicrobialresistance, #AMR #pathogencauseddieseases #communitylevelmonitoring, #mosquitobornediseases, #denguewareness #handson #experientialLearning #mosquitolifecycle #diseasespread, #diseasehotspots #publichealthsurveillance #communityinvolvment to contain/mitigate the #diseasespread and #APSI's expanding #outreach efforts!!!

The module was accompanied by short films 📽, posters, infographics, games, quiz and prizes 🎉 and Sci-Art 🎨, we had a great time engaging with the community and scaling the #APSI-outreach advocacy across all ages!

Taking the #WeeklyAllAboutAPSI learning from digital platforms to workshops, we have been organizing several outreach activities and workshops in Bangalore since June and are continue moving onwards and upwards!
